The 43rd Head Of The Charles Regatta was indeed a spectacular weekend! Wonderfully sunny weather and remarkably calm winds made for ideal rowing conditions, and 15 new course records were established this year. There were some upsets--particularly in the Champion Singles Events--and a few pleasant surprises.
It's estimated approximately 305,000 people lined the riverbanks of the Charles River along the legendary 3-mile racecourse. Regatta venues, such as Row-A-Palooza and Reunion Village, were packed with rowers and fans from all over the world.
Throughout the entire weekend, Moody Street Productions of Waltham MA filmed the entire Regatta—from rowers to reunions; from spectators to sponsors. Perhaps you'll see yourself in the recap show that's scheduled to air on Comcast SportsNet three times in the next 10 days:
